25 LUSK Rooftop

25 Lusk Rooftop

San Francisco, CA

25 Lusk Rooftop – Elevating the rooftop hospitality experience, the design of the 25 Lusk Rooftop features a new rooftop bar and kitchen modules, as well as required restrooms, along with room for 125 guests at peak capacity.  Interesting from both a design and technical / permitting perspective, mobile units were permanently fixed, plumbed and electrified, and then clad to appear as though stick-built in-situ.  Cladding and signage on the elevator penthouse as well as a refresh of the signage at street entry were also part of the design program.

The design sensibility is a warm industrial chic crossed with a casual biergarten. Sapele wood was milled and installed to create a continuous ribbon of wall cladding and benches, and also fabricated into a long bartop open to City views and custom table tops throughout. Steel and glass and integral lighting finish the look of the guardrail bar, while led tivoli string lights provide a warm glow overhead. The palette is completed with simply detailed corrugated metal walls and existing historic red brick, with flooring concrete-look porcelain floor pavers on a pedestal system.  Overhead protection from inclement weather is provided by a steel framed retractable louvers.
