Piñon Lane Residence – The Piñon Lane Residence was a modular SIP panel spec house construction for Bonsai LLC demonstrating a combination of sustainability, economy, and modern mountain home design. Fully fabricated in a factory and set on site poured foundations, the home emphasizes simple massing, horizontal lines, and clad in reclaimed cedar that will fade to natural hues recalling the forests and stone of the surrounding mountains. Covered porches wrap around from the entry to the rear yard, and a roof deck over the garage encourages enjoyment of the outdoors. Superior insulation of walls, roof, windows, and doors, along with PV panels on the roof, minimizes the carbon footprint year-round. Cathedral double-height spaces inside bring natural light and spectacular views.
